Services rescheduled for kumu hula Ramento

Services for the late kumu hula Denise Ka‘uhionamauna Kia Ramento of Pearl City will be held Sept. 23 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church.

Ramento died Aug. 8 at The Queen’s Medical Center-­West Oahu after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 64.

The services were moved from Friday to Saturday to accommodate a larger attendance list, according to daughter Theresa Tehiva.

Viewing is at 9 a.m., followed by 11 a.m. Mass at the church at 1525 Waimano Home Road, Pearl City. Burial is at 1:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary in Waipahu, followed by a drum performance. Aloha attire, flowers and lei are welcome.
