Boy, 15, allegedly reverses stolen car into HPD vehicle

Police arrested a 15-year-old boy after he allegedly struck a police car with a stolen vehicle he was operating in Haleiwa.

At about 1:50 p.m. Thursday, police said an officer pulled up behind the suspect after he was observed operating a stolen vehicle.

After the officer activated strobe lights on his vehicle, the suspect allegedly reversed into the police car.

Police said the suspect was arrested shortly afterward on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage. He also was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, driving without a license, theft, identity theft, two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card and five counts of unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.
