The Rainbow Wahine are still in searching for their first win of 2017 after falling to No. 22 San Diego tonight.

Senior Emily Maglio put down 11 kills and freshman middle Sky Williams was in on seven blocks, but it was not enough as No. 20 Hawaii was swept by No. 22 San Diego tonight, 25-23, 25-13, 25-21, in the second match of the Texaco Invitational at the Stan Sheriff Center.

It is the Rainbow Wahine’s second consecutive season opening the season 0-2 at home.

The Toreros (1-1) got 17 kills from senior opposite Jayden Kennedy in defeating Hawaii for the second consecutive meeting.

In today’s opener, No. 13 UCLA turned back Marquette, 25-16, 25-20, 20-25, 25-23.

Hawaii and UCLA meet for the 75th time at 5 p.m. Sunday. The series is tied 37-37.

In Sunday’s 2:45 p.m. match, Marquette takes on USD.
