Man pulled in critical condition from waters off Wailea, Maui
A man was left in critical condition this morning after he was pulled from waters off Ulua Beach in Wailea.
Witnesses saw the man having a possible medical emergency while in the water and brought the man to shore in a canoe.
Firefighters responding to an 8:17 a.m. emergency call found the man, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, on shore where a vacationing firefighter and others were administering CPR to him.
Paramedics continued advanced life-saving measures until the victim regained a pulse and was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center.
