An emergency siren near Ala Moana Bowls.

The city’s monthly test of the Outdoor Siren Warning System and Live Audio Boradcast in conjunction with Hawaii Emergemcy Management Agency occurs today at 11:45 a.m.

The steady tone will last one minute on more than 170 outdoor sirens on Oahu. Residents in areas surrounding Campbell Industrial Park, Honokai Hale, Makakilo, Kapiolei Regional Park and the Coast Guard Station at Kalaeloa may also hear a “whooping” tone following the siren test, which is a test of the Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Incident outdoor siren warning group.

If the siren in your community does not sound or operate properly please call the Department of Emergency Management at 723-8960 or email dem@honolulu.gov. Residents now have the option of reporting malfunctioning or vandalized sirens online at www3.honolulu.gov/DEMSiren.
