Ige fulfills goal to air-condition 1K classrooms


    Peter Fletter, vice president of Pacific Renewable Construction, shows Gov. David Ige a smartphone app that measures the solar energy production of photovoltaic panels that power a new air-conditioning system in Nanakuli High and Intermediate School’s Building M. The demonstration followed a news conference at the school Thursday announcing completion of Ige’s pledge to cool 1,000 classrooms. Above them are the external condensing units for the AC system.

As the afternoon sun hit photovoltaic panels overhead, Gov. David Ige stepped into the refreshing interior of Building M at Nanakuli High and Intermediate School and the 1,000th classroom in his campaign to cool the schools. Read more
