Emma Tecklenburg had 11 kills as the Chaminade volleyball team defeated Seattle Pacific 25-19, 25-22, 25-14 at the D2 West Region Showcase on Thursday in Monmouth, Ore.
Kira Long and Rachel Reedy each added nine kills for the Silverswords (3-2), who hit .365 for the match.
The Falcons fell to 2-3.

Siera Green had 17 kills and Randi Hunter added 12 for the Vulcans (2-2) in a 25-21, 25-12, 13-25, 25-18 victory over Alaska.

Earlier in the day, Hilo fell to Cal State Monterey Bay 25-8, 25-17, 25-23.
Green finished with 11 kills for the Vulcans.
Anela Visesio had 13 kills for the Otters (4-1).

The Sharks dropped to 1-4.

Basketball officials meeting Sept. 19
The Hawaii State Basketball Officials Association will hold a meeting on Sept. 19 at the Aloha Stadium hospitality room for those interested in officiating high school basketball.
Rules, mechanics, philosophy and on-court situations will be discussed at the meeting, which will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Individuals with no experience or those who wish to officiate in youth and intermediate leagues also are encouraged to attend. Officials must be at least 18 years old.

HPU men lose to Cal State Stanislaus
Lucas Libbra scored at 56:34, but the Hawaii Pacific men’s soccer team lost to Cal State Stanislaus 2-1 on Thursday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
The Sharks fell to 1-1.
Luis Hernandez scored at 56:12 and Khalil Kirksey’s goal at 85:42 put the Warriors (1-1-1) ahead.
Gwi named UH assistant track coach
Sean Gwi was named associate coach for the University of Hawaii track and field team, first-year head coach Tim Boyce announced Thursday.
Gwi will oversee the sprints, hurdles and jumps.
He was an assistant last season at Chabot College in Hayward, Calif.
