Alyssa Tomasini scored twice in the second half as Western Oregon defeated Chaminade in a women’s college soccer match Sunday at the Saint Louis School field.
Tomasini opened the scoring in the 63rd minute to give the Wolves (1-3) a 1-0 lead and then added her second goal of the match in the 80th minute. Chaminade (1-2) had nine shots with six on goal.
The Silverswords open Pacific West Conference play Sept. 28 against Dixie State in St. George, Utah.
UH soccer draws with alumnae
The Hawaii soccer team played to a 3-3 draw against the Rainbow Wahine alumnae in an exhibition at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium on Sunday night.
Bo Samson, Dani Crawford and Sonest Furtado had the goals for the current Wahine.
The alums trailed late but got two scores in the last five minutes to equalize. Ambree Ako and Taryn Fukuroku had goals, while Chelsea Miyake headed the ball for an assist to team manager Patrice Vettori for a score.
UH (3-4) plays at Arizona State on Friday and Grand Canyon on Sunday before going back on the road for Big West play the following week.
