>> A 1986 U.S. Supreme Court decision was cited by attorneys in a petition seeking to open to the public proceedings involving two Honolulu police officers who want taxpayers to pay their attorneys’ fees. A Page B1 story Tuesday said a Hawaii Supreme Court decision was cited. Also, the Honolulu Ethics Commission has told the Police Commission to make its own decision on whether Commissioner Loretta Sheehan should vote on a matter involving retired Police Chief Louis Kealoha. The story said the Ethics Commission was still deciding the Police Commission’s request for a legal opinion on the matter.
