Suspect in deadly Waikiki shooting appears in court

An Oahu grand jury has indicted an 18-year-old man today with murder in connection with the deadly shooting in Waikiki.

Jordan A. Smith was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Maleko Remlinger of Kaneohe.

Prosecutors also charged him with one count of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree attempted murder and firearm offenses.

Bail is set at $1 million.

The shooting occurred early Saturday where Smith allegedly shot Remlinger and two other men who were standing in a crowd outside Club Alley Cat.
