The Hawaii Hilo men’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 nonconference game to Cal State Los Angeles on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Kareem Salem scored the winning goal on a penalty kick in the 43rd minute.
The Golden Eagles (6-1) outshot UH Hilo 22-2, and junior goalkeeper Nick Williams recorded nine saves for the Vulcans (0-3). UHH will travel to Riverside, Calif., for its PacWest opener against No. 20 Cal Baptist on Thursday at 1 p.m.
