Kaaawa woman dies while swimming off Kualoa

A 71-year-old woman has died after she was found unresponsive in waters off of Kualoa Beach Park.

She has been identified as Susan H. Lee of Kaaawa, according to the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy is expected to be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

Police said there were no signs of foul play.

At about 8:30 a.m. at Secret Beach Tuesday, police said the woman identified as Lee became unresponsive after swimming in the ocean.Witnesses pulled her to shore.

Emergency Medical Services arrived and Lee was pronounced dead.
