Police were called out to 94-099 Waipahu St. in Waipahu where they encountered a person barricaded in a residence on Saturday. Specialized Services Division officers approach the scene with rifles trained on the barricaded apartment from a few doors away and on the ground floor.

A more-than-six-hour standoff ended peacefully Saturday evening when a prison guard surrendered to police outside his home in Waipahu.
Residents of the Leolua Regent apartments, 94-099 Waipahu St., said police were called after the man allegedly rushed a neighbor with a machete. Police arrested the unidentified man just after 8 p.m. on suspicion of terroristic threatening.
The man lives in the middle unit on the second floor of building C. According to property records, the unit is owned by Renie C. Cablay. Cablay is an adult corrections officer at Oahu Community Correctional Center who is currently on leave, according to Toni Schwartz, a spokeswoman for the Hawaii Department of Public Safety.
