Kaukonahua Road has been reopened after it was closed following a traffic accident that knocked down utility lines.

Shortly before noon, the road was closed from Farrington Highway to Kamananui Road, and motorists were advised to use alternate routes.

The cable and telephone wires were knocked down and were hanging low due to a military vehicle collision, police said. One streetlight was also believed to be down.

The road reopened about 2:30 p.m.
