The University of Hawaii women’s golf team is 12th and last after Monday’s first round of the Nanea Pac-12 Preview at Nanea Golf Course in Kailua-Kona.
The Rainbow Wahine, who are competing against 11 Pac-12 schools, have a two-round total of 30-over-par 614. No. 2 UCLA leads at 564.
Hawaii’s top golfer is Sahara Washington, who is tied for 20th at 3-over 149. Stanford’s Andrea Lee leads at 137.
>> Hawaii Pacific’s Masato Yoshitsugo is tied for second at 2-under-par 142 after Monday’s first round of the Dixie State Invitational at the Waikoloa Beach Resort course.
Dixie State’s Jayce Frampton leads at 4-under 140. Yoshitsugo is tied with Dixie State’s Wallace Spencer.
Dixie State leads the five-team tournament at 579. Hawaii Hilo is third at 589 and Hawaii Pacific is fourth at 609.
Chaminade men draw with Dominican
Makoto Shoji scored off an assist from Jaewon Huh at 75:07 as the Chaminade men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Dominican on Monday at Saint Louis field.
Bernd Buescherhoff made two saves for the Silverswords (3-7-2, 2-6-2 PacWest) in a match that lasted 110 minutes.
Wilson Briggs scored at 61:13 for the Penguins (4-8-1, 1-7-1).
>> In the women’s match, Chaminade allowed four second-half goals in a 4-0 loss to Dominican.
The Silverswords dropped to 3-9-1, 2-7-1 PacWest.
Mariah Meza scored twice and had an assist for the Penguins (5-7-2, 3-5-1).
