The Hawaii Hilo men’s soccer team rallied before falling to Fresno Pacific 3-2 on Monday at Paiea Stadium.
Bryan Reynoso scored at 27:32 and Evan Bacani added a goal at 37:58 as the Vulcans (1-14, 1-11 PacWest) tied the match 2-2. Jonathan Garcia assisted on both goals.
Gabriel Batista scored the go-ahead goal at 79:01 for the Sunbirds (7-9, 6-5). Sergio Segura (0:33) and Anthony Velarde (16:40) also scored for Fresno Pacific.
Earlier in the day, Hawaii Hilo goalkeeper Cassidy Dixon was named PacWest Conference men’s defender of the week.
Dixon, a senior from Pahoa, had seven saves in the Vulcans’ first victory of the season — a 3-0 triumph over Dominican on Saturday. It was Dixon’s second start of the season.

The Vulcans dropped to 6-9-1, 3-8-1 PacWest.
Mariah Montoya and Whitney Snow scored in the second half for the Sunbirds (9-6-1, 9-2).
Chaminade volleyball loses in 4 sets
Emma Tecklenburg finished with 19 kills, but the Chaminade volleyball team lost to Notre Dame de Namur 25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 25-18 on Monday at McCabe Gym.
Skyler Curry had 24 assists for the Silverswords (11-11, 6-8, PacWest).
Bianca Alvarez had 24 kills for the Argonauts (14-10, 9-7).

The Vulcans fell to 8-13, 5-9 PacWest.
Cindy Tran and Rachel Flynn both had 10 kills for the Eagles (14-8, 10-5).
UH men’s golf struggles at Princeville
The University of Hawaii men’s golf team’s two representatives are way back after Monday’s second round of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational at Makai Golf Club at Princeville.
Hawaii B is 18th at 17-over-par 593 and Hawaii is 20th and last at 610. Louisville leads at 535.
Missouri’s Hayden Buckley is atop the leaderboard at 17-under 127. Hawaii B’s top golfer is Taiga Iwasa, who is tied for 70th at 146, while Hawaii’s top individual is Nick Nelson, who is tied for 84th at 148.
