An 18-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after he was struck by a vehicle in Waikiki early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred around 12:28 a.m. in the road fronting 2260 Kuhio Ave. The man was taken to a trauma center.
Men sought in McDonald’s robbery attempt
Police are looking for two men in connection with an attempted robbery at the McDonald’s in Stadium Mall on Saturday.
The two men entered the restaurant around 6 a.m. wearing masks and carrying machetes, police said. Employees fled while the suspects tried unsuccessfully to open a cash register. The suspects left on foot. No injuries were reported.
Excess speed is suspected in ATV crash
A 39-year-old man was left in critical condition Friday after his all-terrain vehicle collided with a car in Waianae.
According to police, a 2000 Volvo operated by a 39-year-old Makaha woman was attempting a turn at the intersection of Jade and Hanalei streets when it was struck by the ATV.
The ATV operator was ejected onto the road. He was taken by Emergency Medical Services personnel to an area hospital.
Speed is believed to have been a factor in the collision. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs were factors, police said.
Argument between men leads to stabbing
Police arrested a 40-year-old man Thursday after he allegedly stabbed another man during an argument in Kailua.
The suspect and the 56-year-old victim were arguing at around 5:30 p.m. when the suspect attacked the other man with a pocket knife, causing “substantial bodily injury,” police said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.
