Kailua argument leaves man hospitalized with stab wounds

A 40-year-old man has been charged for allegedly stabbing a 56-year-old man in Kailua.

Darrell L. Gayle, of no known local address, was charged Saturday with second-degree assault. His bail was set at $50,000.

At about 5:30 p.m. Friday, police said a suspect later identified as Gayle and his friend were involved in an argument over money.

The argument escalated and Gayle allegedly attacked the victim with a pocket knife, causing a stab wound to his lower right leg and cut to his left hand.

Police were called and Gayle was arrested that night.
