Former President Barack Obama was on Oahu this weekend.

He made an appearance Saturday at Mitch’s Sushi on Ohohia Street near Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

The restaurant posted two photos to its Facebook page of Obama wearing a black bomber jacket while posing with the restaurant staff.

He grasped a large knife in his right hand while surrounded by the staff in one photo. The caption read, “Our newest sushi chef! After 8 years in the office he’s up to a new challenge.”

In another photo, Obama posed with a shaka and his arms around the employees.

A manager of Mitch’s confirmed today that Obama stopped at the restaurant Saturday, but declined further comment.

Obama was also seen at Mid-Pacific Country Club on Sunday morning. The golf club posted a photo of Obama wearing a turquoise polo shirt and shorts, holding a golf club.

The post said Obama stopped in for some morning golf.

It was not clear when Obama returned to the islands or how long he intended to stay.
