The westbound H-1 freeway is scheduled for full-lane, night closures between the Makakilo Drive overpass and Kalaeloa Boulevard overpass from Monday through Friday. The lanes will shut down from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for work on the Kapolei Interchange Complex, Phase 2, project.
The state Department of Transportation said the closures are necessary to mobilize a crane in the westbound lanes. Electronic message boards will be posted to warn motorists of the full closure.
Motorists traveling on the H-1 freeway will be directed to Makakilo Drive via the Makakilo/Kapolei/Kalaeloa offramp (Exit 2) and may continue on Farrington Highway/Kamokila Boulevard, Wakea Street, and the Farrington Highway onramp to return to the westbound H-1 freeway.
Other lane closures associated with the project include:
>> Two right lanes closed on the H-1 freeway in the westbound direction between the Kapolei/Ewa offramp (Exit 3) and the Makakilo Drive overpass from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday.
>> Right lane closure on the H-1 freeway in the westbound direction between the Kapolei/Ewa offramp (Exit 3) and the Makakilo Drive overpass daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday through Friday for overhead sign work.
