Motorcyclist badly hurt in crash with minivan in Mililani

Emergency Medical Services transported a 19-year-old motorcyclist to a hospital after he was broadsided by a minivan in Mililani.

Shortly after 2:45 p.m. near Mililani Middle School, police said a 2010 Honda Odyssey minivan operated by a 44-year-old woman was making a U-turn when she broadsided a KTM dirt bike operated by the 19-year-old man traveling north on Lehiwa Drive.

The rider was thrown from his dirt bike onto the roadway.

There are conflicting reports of the man’s condition at the time he was transported to the hospital. Police said he was transported to Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition and EMS reported he was in serious condition.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Police said it’s unknown at this time whether speed or alcohol was involved.
