Two-time defending state champion Saint Louis finished its season more than two weeks ago with a 31-28 victory over Kahuku in the Open Division final of the First Hawaiian Bank/HHSAA Football State Championships to claim its fourth state crown overall.
Since then, the Crusaders (10-0) have watched their national ranking climb as the rest of the country finishes out their seasons.
Saint Louis is No. 17 in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 this week and No. 5 in the MaxPreps Freeman rankings. The Xcellent 25 is made up of voters, while the Freeman rankings are based on a computer model.
The Crusaders have not been ranked all season in the USA Today Super 25 that is made up of voters but are ranked No. 10 in the USA Today Super 25 computer rankings.
