Hill, a New Jersey native, got her start with the Fugees, making waves for mixing African-American and Caribbean music and her update of the 1970s Roberta Flack hit “Killing Me Softly.” She won five Grammy Awards for her 1998 solo album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” and her sixth for “Supernatural” in 2000.
Hawaii-based hip-hop/reggae recording artist Eli-Mac will open both shows.
