What would you call a pie layered over another pie, topped with a cake? Fanny Esparza- Queloz, owner and baker at the new Soleil d’Hawaii Bakery calls it “festive” — and she’ll make you one.
The piecaken consists of a pecan pie, a custard pie and a chocolate cake all wrapped in vanilla buttercream with a cherry topping.
It definitely makes a statement.
The piecaken can be ordered through Dec. 20 for $48.
Soleil d’Hawaii, previously called Honolulu French Connection, moved into the former Larry’s Bakery location in Salt Lake in September.
Esparza-Queloz’s other holiday items include stollen and yule logs, both in large and small sizes, depending on if you’re hosting a party, or simply indulging yourself.
The bakery is at 4369 Lawehana St. Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays, and 7 a.m. to noon Christmas and New Year’s eves. Call 200-2346.
