Find hand-crafted furniture, salvaged-hardwood bangles and bowls, clocks, quilted items and more at Hawaii Correctional Industries’ Holiday Showcase Sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Gently priced objects made by inmates on Oahu and the neighbor islands will be on sale, along with fresh produce grown on a correctional facility farm.
Inmates receive skills training and modest pay for their work, and a portion of sale proceeds goes to a crime victims’ fund. Regular hours are Monday through Friday at the second-floor Hawaii Correctional Industries Sales Showroom, 801 Dillingham Blvd., above Max’s of Manila restaurant, across from Costco in Iwilei.
The store reported receiving a new shipment of goods from its Big Island woodshop for the sale, with odds-and-end furniture pieces marked down as much as 70 percent.
