Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday events on Oahu culminated with the annual parade and rally Monday, January 15, 2018, sponsored by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Coalition. The parade began at Magic Island at 9 a.m., and proceeded on Kalakaua Avenue through Waikiki to Kapiolani Park for the Unity rally Ñ with food, community booths. Performers with the United Methodist Church of Honolulu Pancakes and Praise Band /Freedom Worshippers took to the stage at the Kapiolani Park Bandstand for the Unity rally.
