University of Hawaii divers Madison Sthamann and Johan Sandell swept the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation athlete of the week honors.
Sthamann, a senior from Canada, posted a career-best 334.05 in the women’s platform finals at the UCLA Bruins Diving Invitational, topping a field of divers from the Pac-12, Mountain West, Western Athletic Conference and MPSF. This is the first athlete of the week honor for Sthamann, the reigning MPSF diver of the year.
Sandell, a junior from Sweden, placed second in the 1-meter and 3-meter events, and was third in the platform event. His scores in the 3-meter and platform events were the highest marks of the week in the MPSF. This is the second career athlete of the week honor for Sandell, also the reigning MPSF diver of the year.
