The Hawaii baseball team was picked to finish seventh out of nine teams in the Big West preseason poll on Wednesday.
The poll was voted on by the conference’s nine coaches. Cal State Fullerton was picked to finish first, earning 73 points and six first-place votes. The Titans, who are coming off an appearance in last year’s College World Series, are also a consensus preseason top-25 team in the national polls. Long Beach State was picked to finish second after ending its 2017 season in the NCAA Super Regionals.
UH opens with its annual alumni game on Feb. 10, at 1 p.m. at Les Murakami Stadium. The season officially begins with a four-game home series against Air Force starting on Feb. 16.
