The city plans “mill and fill” pavement repairs to travel lanes at the Kaimuki municipal parking lot No. 2 at Koko Head and 12th avenues starting Wednesday, weather permitting, which means it will be closed on weekdays.

Construction will take place 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, requiring the closure of the parking lot. The public is advised to avoid the area if possible, and observe and obey all traffic controls, posted signs and special duty police officers. The work is anticipated to be completed by mid-March.

In February, the city distributed 200 flyers about the repairs to area businesses and residents on both sides of the streets surrounding the lot, including Harding, Koko Head Avenue, Waialae, 11th and 12th avenues. A more comprehensive project to repave all of the parking lot pavement is scheduled to start in spring 2019.
