Police have charged a Kamehameha Schools assistant band director with multiple sexual assault offenses.
James Maeda, 23, was arrested Friday on nine counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree sexual assault stemming from what the school called an “inappropriate relationship” with a student. Maeda’s bail has been set at $450,000.
2 men badly injured in Kunia Road crash
Two men were seriously injured Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Kunia Road near the Hawaii Country Club golf course.
According to Emergency Medical Services, the car was heading Ewa around 7:24 a.m. when it crossed the median, went up a 2-foot embankment and struck a tree, causing it to roll over multiple times. The two men, ages 26 and 30, were transported to a local trauma center.
