Silverswords sweep softball doubleheader
Trailing late in both games, the Chaminade softball team twice rallied for wins in a doubleheader against British Columbia University, winning 7-5 and 5-4 on Wednesday at Central Oahu Regional Park.
In the first game, the Silverswords (2-3) trailed 4-3 entering the bottom of the fifth inning. But after a sacrifice fly tied the game up, Devan Dickson raced home on a wild pitch to give Chaminade a lead it would not relinquish.
In the second game, British Columbia (0-2) held a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. But things quickly unraveled for Thunderbird pitcher Chantelle Twynstra, who issued three wild pitches and three walks in a five-run inning that allowed Chaminade to seize control of the game.
