Cesarin Perez, charged with manslaughter in the death of Pil Sung Kim in Waikiki, appeared in District Court today.

A 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a 29-year-old man in Waikiki.

Prosecutors charged Cesarin Perez with manslaughter in the death of the victim, identified in court documents as Pil Sung Kim. Perez’ bail is set at $500,000.

Police said the victim, later identified as Kim, was found unresponsive on the sidewalk on Feb. 20. Emergency Medical Services treated and transported him to a nearby hospital.

Police said his condition deteriorated and Kim was pronounced dead on March 1.

An investigation revealed he was assaulted.

Police arrested a suspect later identified as Perez in Waikiki Thursday on suspicion of second-degree murder.
