Puget Sound sophomore Makoa Mau was named the Northwest Conference pitcher of the week on Tuesday.
Mau, a 2016 Kamehameha alumnus, threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts in a 7-2 victory over Linfield (Ore.) on Saturday.
Both runs were earned against Mau, who set a career high in strikeouts and recorded the first nine-inning performance of his short career with the Loggers.
Mau is 2-1 with a 4.03 ERA this season through four starts and is tied for second on the team in both innings pitched (221⁄3) and strikeouts (18).

As a freshman, Mau made nine appearances out of the bullpen and gave up six earned runs in 111⁄3 innings with seven strikeouts.
Mau is one of eight players from Hawaii on the Loggers roster. UPS is 9-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
Sophomore first baseman Mason Quinlan, one of five Kamehameha alums on the team, leads the Loggers in hitting with a .397 average. Quinlan had three doubles and a home run with 10 RBIs.
Senior outfielder Cal Muramaru, a 2014 Mid-Pacific alumnus, is batting .385 in 11 games with a team-leading 15 runs scored.
Freshman right-hander Andrew Matsueda, a 2017 Punahou alumnus, leads the team with a 1.80 ERA in 10 innings out of the bullpen.
The Loggers continue conference play hosting Swarthmore today.
