University of Hawaii junior Kaci Masuda has been named the Big West women’s golfer of the month, the conference announced Monday.
Masuda, of Pearl City, became just the sixth medalist in program history after finishing at 4-under-par 212 at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic in Kapalua, Maui, last week. The Rainbow Wahine finished tied for first with Louisville.
Earlier in the month, Masuda tied for 24th at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
Hilo men’s tennis ranked No. 1 in West
The University of Hawaii Hilo men’s tennis team was ranked No. 1 in the first West Region rankings, announced by the NCAA on Wednesday.
The Vulcans are 14-1 overall and 13-0 in matches against NCAA Division II teams. Azusa Pacific (20-2) is No. 2 and UC San Diego (9-5) is No. 3.
Hawaii Hilo is ranked No. 7 nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
