SEOUL >> Korean Air Lines said Monday it has suspended one of its chairman’s daughters from her marketing work after she threw a tantrum at a business meeting, triggering public outrage and a police investigation.
The daughter, Cho Hyun-min, also known as Emily Cho, is the younger sister of another Korean Air executive whose onboard “nut rage” outburst delayed a flight in 2014.
The flag carrier said Cho, a senior vice president, was suspended from work starting Monday. It said it will take further action following the police investigation.
Cho allegedly hurled a cup of water at an ad agency official during a meeting last month. She later apologized on Facebook, saying the outburst was sparked by her passion for commercials. Cho oversaw the company’s marketing and commercials.
“I apologize for my foolish behavior,” she said on Facebook. “It is my big fault that I could not control my emotions.”
Cho’s sister, Hyun-ah, achieved notoriety after delaying a flight at John F. Kennedy Airport over how nuts were served.
Domino’s will deliver to beaches, parks
NEW YORK >> Domino’s, which has been bringing pizzas to doorsteps for more than half a century, will now deliver to the great outdoors.
The pizza chain said Monday that its drivers can meet customers at U.S. beaches, parks and landmarks to hand over pizza, cheesy bread and other food on its menu. In all, Domino’s said it will deliver to 150,000 outdoor locations.
Netflix shares soar on subscriber growth
Netflix saw yet another stellar quarter, with robust international subscription growth driving the company to new highs.
The streaming entertainment giant added 7.4 million new subscribers for the first quarter, sending shares soaring more than 6 percent in after-hours trading Monday. The company earned $290.1 million and had revenue of $3.70 billion.
Netflix said first-quarter revenue rose 43 percent year-over-year, the fastest pace in the history of its streaming business.
The stock closed at $307.78, down 1.2 percent, but jumped nearly 7 percent in after-hours trading to $329.07.
