Honolulu firefighters Thursday morning rescued a male hiker who fell 30 feet while hiking on Ahuimanu Falls Trail.
At about 11 a.m., paramedics treated the unresponsive man, believed to be in his 50s, at Ahuimanu Elementary School after bystanders had performed CPR. Paramedics took him in critical condition to an area hospital.
2 teens injure man in Kalihi robbery
Police are investigating a robbery in Kalihi early Thursday.
Police said two teenage male suspects used an unknown object to assault a 27-year-old man while they attempted to take his property at about 2 a.m.
The assailants fled without the victim’s property.
Emergency Medical Services treated the victim and transported him in good condition to a hospital.
There were no arrests as of Thursday night.
Man, 44, charged in Kalihi bank robbery
Prosecutors have charged a 44-year-old man in connection with a bank robbery in Kalihi.
Jesse Jun N. Gonzales was charged Wednesday with second-degree robbery. His bail has been set at $15,000.
Police say a man entered the Bank of Hawaii branch at about 2:35 p.m. Monday and gave a teller a note saying he was armed and demanding money.
Police said he left the bank without any money.
Officers located him at the intersection of Dillingham Boulevard and Kohou Street and arrested him on suspicion of robbery.
Bike bandit grabs woman’s cigarettes
Police arrested a 25-year-old man after he allegedly stole a carton of cigarettes from a 62-year-old woman in the Ala Moana area.
Police said the woman was sitting at a bus stop near the intersection of Keeaumoku and Makaloa streets at 11:30 a.m. when a man on a bicycle approached her and grabbed the carton from her.
Police said she attempted to hold onto the carton, but the man overpowered her and snatched it away, causing her to fall and injure her knees in the struggle.
Police who were nearby apprehended the suspect. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree robbery.
