Firefighters put out Ewa Beach garage fire before it spreads to house

Honolulu firefighters responded early this morning to a fire at a two-story home in Ewa Beach.

Seven fire units staffed with 23 personnel responded to the fire at 1:33 a.m. today at 91-6221 Kapolei Parkway and found light smoke emanating out of the home’s enclosed garage. It was reported that an adult male and adult female were in the home at the time of the fire, but were alerted by the sounds of the fire and able to escape without injuries.

Firefighters brought the fire under control at 1:57 a.m. and extinguished it at 1:59 a.m. Fire damage was confined to the garage. Estimated damages are not yet available.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported.
