A pickup truck struck a 64-year-old woman riding a tricycle this morning in Kapolei, seriously injuring her, police said.

The truck driver fled the scene, but police later found and arrested the man, a police traffic investigator said. The 29-year-old was charged with first-degree negligent injury, failure to render aid and a drug offense.

The woman was riding the three-wheeler in the area of Kapolei Parkway and Keaunui Drive when she was struck at 7:20 a.m., Emergency Medical Services said.

EMS personnel treated the woman for serious upper body injuries and transported her in serious condition to a hospital.
