Hawaii golf notes: Demo Day at Pearl CC

Pearl Country Club is featuring a Mizuno Demo Day on the driving range Sunday and a Father’s Day sale in the pro shop the following Sunday.

The Demo Day will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Father’s Day sale will have 20-percent discounts on regularly priced merchandise, with the exception of clubs and balls. Red-tag prices will be 15 percent off.

Pearl is also extending its Summer Special to kamaaina golfers through the end of July. Kamaaina can play for $50 weekdays and $60 on weekends and holidays. The fee includes cart. For tee times or more information, call 487-3802.

12 receive Jennie K. scholarships

A dozen junior golfers collected Jennie K. Merit Scholarships at last month’s tournament. The second-year program got 31 applicants.

Scholarships ranged from $500 to $1,000 and were funded by 15 tee box sponsors. Three winners were from Maui and one from Hawaii island. All but three were high school seniors. Winners were: Katherine Swor, Jaeline Ishikawa, Hannah Valencia, Jade Mauga, Miki Manta, Naomi Wong, Allysha Mateo, Ella Otani, Alexandra Buntin, Kaitlyn Tonai, Danielle Ujimori and Megan Long.
