Lamarria Johnson, a 5-foot-6 point guard from Chicago, has signed to play for the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team this season, the school announced Friday.
Johnson led Bogan High School to two city championships, two regional titles, two sectional crowns and a super-sectional trophy, according to UH’s website.
“We are excited to have Lamarria join our family,” said Rainbow Wahine coach Laura Beeman in a press release. “She’ll bring us additional athleticism and depth to the guard position, particularly at the point guard spot. She fits into the personality of our team, a great student, a hard worker, and she is all about her teammates and the team.”
Johnson will compete with senior Tia Kanoa for time at the point.
