Crews work on water main break at Waialae Avenue near 17th Avenue

Honolulu Board of Water Supply crews continue to work on a water main break today on Waialae Avenue near 17th Avenue in Kaimuki.

The 8-inch main break on between Ekaha and 17th avenues has closed one Ewa-bound lane of Waialae Avenue. Drivers are advised to use caution in the area and to consider alternative routes.

Water service to about 65 homes is affected and a water wagon has been located near the corner of Ekaha and Hoku avenues, according to Board of Water Supply officials. A second water wagon is located at 4024 Hoku Avenue. Spigots have been connected to fire hydrants near the corner of Ekaha and Hoku and 17th and Waialae.
