Preparing dinner is getting quicker and easier with all the ready-made sauces and packaged products sold at the grocery store. A new one is the teriyaki-miso sauce made by Ohana Flavors, a division of Halms Enterprises.
The sauce is usually found in the refrigerated section of supermarkets near the fish or fish cake in a clear plastic jar. You can substitute other brands or even substitute packaged dry mixes.
Like other Hawaii-style sauces, this marinade is sweet and tasty. Just a small amount goes a long way.
Marinate fresh or defrosted fish fillets in this sauce, refrigerate for as little as an hour or as long as overnight, and bake for the simplest meal for your family.
Commonly found frozen or fresh fish fillets of salmon, mahimahi, tilapia, opah or cod will all be delicious. A 6-ounce fillet will cook in 15 minutes in a 350-degree oven. Baking transforms it into a tender, tasty protein.
The only planning you have to do is to determine when to start marinating the fish.
If you didn’t allow for any marinating time, simmer the fish on low heat in the marinade on the stove.
Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds or pickled red ginger and you’ll have an easy meal.
You can also try this shortcut sauce with chicken, beef, pork or even fried firm tofu!
