After Hurricane Lane was downgraded on Saturday to a tropical storm, most businesses that were scheduled to be closed on Saturday, including major shopping malls, were up and running by noon. However, the Stan Sheriff Center remained closed because of “weather-related” concerns.
This is absolutely a poorly concocted and lame excuse. More than likely, it was the university’s inability to mobilize its employees to come to work and open the arena.
This is yet another example of the typical ineptness of how state organizations are run — in this case, keeping thousands of loyal Wahine volleyball fans from attending a game.
