The primary is all pau. Happy days!
To all the veteran politician who failed at making a comeback like U.S. Rep. Colleen Hanabusa, Clayton Hee, John Carroll and Robert Bunda: Stop!
Don’t run again. You were rejected. This country was founded by citizen politicians who ran for office only begrudgingly at the behest of their fellow citizens.
They had robust lives as farmers, businessmen, writers and inventors.
Now that you lost, find something worthwhile to do with the rest of your life. Get a job, start a business, spend time with your spouse and grandchildren.
For those who squeaked by in the last few years like Gov. David Ige, Mayor Kirk Caldwell, state Sen. Josh Green: Don’t run again. You are too old and your ideas are past. Mentor some young leaders and get out of the way.
All this from one of the last bald-headed haole moderate Republicans left in Hawaii.
