    Navy officials, members of the Honolulu Board of Water Supply and others visited one of the empty fuel tanks at the Red Hill Underground Fuel Storage Facility near Pearl Harbor in 2015.

Hurriedly built during the World War II era, the Navy’s underground fuel storage facility at Red Hill includes 20 fuel tanks situated just 100 feet above an aquifer that supplies drinking water to some 400,000 residents, from Moanalua to Hawaii Kai. Read more
