A 72-year-old Pearl City man died Friday after a motorcycle crash on Kalanianaole Highway in the Olomana area of Kailua.
Police said the man was traveling Kaneohe-bound at 11:34 a.m. Friday near Ulupii Street when he lost control of his motorcycle for unknown reasons.
He was thrown from his bike onto the roadway. Another motorcycle traveling in the same lane struck him.
Emergency Medical Services personnel treated and transported him in critical condition to an area hospital, where he died. Neither speed nor alcohol appears to be a contributing factor.
This was Oahu’s 46th traffic death this year, compared with 31 at the same time last year.
