The state Department of Land and Natural Resources has closed Manoa Falls Trail until further notice because of a landslide.

A DLNR spokesman said the rockfall or landslide occurred in the upper pool area and the pool is permanently off-limits to the public.

Staff will assess the situation Saturday.

Firefighters responded to reports of a loud landslide in the area at about 5:30 p.m., according to radio communications.
