The dining spots at the ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach will donate 10 percent of proceeds from special pink dishes to Susan G. Komen Hawaii. The benefit continues through October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Items include a watermelon and arugula salad, pink macarons and drinks. Outside, the resort will be lit up in pink for the month.

Colin Sato, the new chef at Beachhouse at the Moana and Chris Ramelb, Hawaii’s newly minted master sommelier, are pairing up to present a dinner on Saturday.
The 6 p.m. Pairings Dinner features four courses matched to wines from France, Germany, Italy and California — centered on an entree of Maui Nui venison with parsnip puree, crispy Brussels sprouts and char siu butter, paired with the 2016 Neyers “Sage Canyon Red.”

A MENU TOO GOOD TO WASTE
Chef Peter Merriman hosted a sold-out dinner at the James Beard House in New York last week, and is offering the same menu at Merriman’s Honolulu through Sunday.
Dishes include petit laulau with butter sauce and octopus with country bread and garlic butter. Cost is $68; $40 more for wine pairings.
Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance over the phone (not online).
Each person in the dinner party must take the menu.
Merriman’s is in the Anaha condominium tower, 1108 Auahi St. Call 215-0022.
GYU-KAKU EXPANDS
A new Gyu-Kaku opened Monday at the corner of School and Houghtailing streets, on the second floor above Rainbow Drive-In Kalihi. It is open for lunch and dinner daily.
The new location is the fourth yakiniku spot for GK Hawaii Restaurants, which also owns Rainbow Kalihi. Call 888-5349.
