Hawaii Hilo junior Warren Miller was named the PacWest men’s co-golfer of the week, the conference announced Thursday.
Miller, of Bakersfield, Calif., carded a 2-under-par 142 to finish tied for 15th at the Dixie State Fall Regional Preview in St. George, Utah.
The Vulcans finished 16th in the 27-team event.
Miller shared the honor with Dominican’s Jake Quast, who also shot a 142 at the event.
UH diving has an impressive start
The University of Hawaii men’s and women’s diving teams swept the top three spots in a dual meet on Thursday in Bakersfield, Calif.
In the men’s 1-meter event, Max Burman won with 319.65 points, Grant Newcombe was second with 307.40 and Johan Sandell finished third with 282.95.
In the women’s 3-meter event, Ivy Houser won with 295.60 points, Monica Gavaris finished second with 268.55 and Jami Stone placed third with 251.80.
HPU men’s soccer loses at home
Tom Karshuening scored at 13:14 and Isac Mansson scored on a penalty kick at 69:37, but the Hawaii Pacific men’s soccer team lost to Point Loma 3-2 on Thursday at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium.
The Sharks fell to 4-7-0, 2-4-0 PacWest.
Parker Scalzo scored the go-ahead goal at 85:20 for the Sea Lions (9-5-0, 5-2-0).
