U.S. Geological Survey puts Kilauea atop its nationwide list of dangerous volcanoes

    Incandescence from Kilauea’s fissure 8 was noted a couple of times the night of Sept. 5, but no spattering or glow was visible at 8 a.m. the following day. The steam in the background was due to rainfall.

Kilauea topped a nationwide list of dangerous volcanoes and was one of 18 considered to be “very high risk,” according to a report released this week by the U.S. Geological Survey. Read more
